In recent years, solid-state batteries have become one of the most closely watched technological trends in the global new energy industry. Driven by the rapid growth of electric vehicles, the low-altitude economy, humanoid robotics, energy storage systems, and other emerging markets, leading battery companies are accelerating their investments in solid-state battery technologies, pushing the industry from laboratory research and development toward pilot-scale validation and mass production.

Across China, Japan, South Korea, Europe and other major battery markets, an increasing number of companies are investing in the construction of solid-state electrolyte production lines, pilot-scale platforms , and mass production facilities, signaling that the global commercialization of solid-state batteries is entering a new phase of development.

1. The global solid-state battery industry continues to gain momentum

Currently, companies including Toyota, Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution, SK On, CATL, BYD, Gotion High-Tech, WeLion New Energy, and QingTao Energy Development are all actively advancing the research, development, and industrialization of solid-state batteries.

From a technology perspective, the industry is mainly focused on three major solid-state electrolyte pathways: oxide solid-state electrolytes, sulfide solid-state electrolytes, and polymer solid-state electrolytes

Among these, oxide solid-state electrolytes have become one of the most actively developed technology routes toward industrialization due to their high safety, good stability in air, and mature manufacturing processes. Sulfide solid-state electrolytes, meanwhile, are regarded as a key development direction for future high-energy-density batteries due to their high ionic conductivity.

As material systems continue to mature, competition within the industry is gradually shifting from laboratory-level performance breakthroughsto engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

2. From materials research and development to large-scale manufacturing, what challenges must be overcome?

Achieving commercial-scale solid-state battery production requires more than continuous improvement in material performance. It also requires stable, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes.

1) During solid-state electrolyte production, companies typically face several key engineering challenges:Ensuring high powder purity and batch-to-batch consistency

2) Achieving continuous and automated manufacturing processes

3) Precisely controlling critical processes such as sintering, powder milling, and classification

4) Scaling up processes from laboratory validation and pilot production to industrial-scale manufacturing

5) Shortening project implementation cycles and accelerating production ramp-up

These challenges directly determine whether solid-state battery technologies can successfully transition from R&D stages to large-scale manufacturing. As a result, more companies are shifting their focus from individual equipment procurement toward integrated solid-state electrolyte production line solutions.

3. Turnkey EPC capabilities are becoming a Key Competitive Advantage

With the increasing number of solid-state battery projects worldwide, demand for EPC services for solid-state electrolyte production lines is growing rapidly.

Compared with purchasing individual machines, turnkey EPC solutions provide significant advantages, including:

· Integrated optimization of process design and equipment configuration

· Seamless integration of automation systems and intelligent manufacturing technologies

· Reduced project construction and commissioning cycles

· Improved overall production line stability and reliability

· Lower risks associated with project implementation

For customers, the critical factor is not only equipment performance, but whether the entire production system can achieve stable operation, efficient ramp-up, and sustainable production capacity.

4. Boyee Continues to Drive the Commercialization of Solid-State Electrolytes

As a supplier of smart equipment and turnkey solutions for new energy materials, Boyee continues to specialize in solid-state electrolyte production equipment, solid-state battery material equipment, and turnkey EPC projects.

Currently, Boyee has established a one-stop engineering service system covering: turnkey solutions for oxide solid-state electrolytes and sulfide solid-state electrolytes; laboratory-scale line construction; pilot-scale process validation and scale-up; mass production lines; and turnkey EPC project delivery.

In recent years, Boyee has successively completed the construction of a kiloton-scale oxide solid-state electrolyte project in Hubei, China and China’s first oxide solid-state electrolyte pilot line, while continuing to deliver multiple oxide solid-state electrolyte mass production projects. Recently, Boyee signed another EPC contract for a 1000-ton-per-year oxide solid-state electrolyte production line and is continuing to advance the delivery of supporting equipment and project implementation, further demonstrating its engineering capabilities through real-world industrial applications.

Leveraging its independently developed core equipment and extensive project project experience, Boyee can provide clients with end-to-end support—from process planning, equipment manufacturing, and installation and commissioning to the delivery of complete production lines—thereby accelerating the industrialization of solid-state electrolytes.

5. In the future, industrial competition will enter the era of engineering.

It is widely believed within the industry that the coming years will represent a critical window of opportunity for the commercialization of solid-state batteries.

As material systems gradually mature, competitive advantages will no longer depend solely on laboratory breakthroughs. Instead, engineering capabilities, intelligent manufacturing technologies, and large-scale project delivery capabilities will become decisive factors.

Moving forward, Boyee will continue to drive technological innovation in solid-state electrolyte production lines, solid-state battery material equipment, turnkey EPC projects, and intelligent manufacturing solutions, providing global customers with more efficient, stable, and reliable one-stop services to jointly advance the solid-state battery industry toward large-scale application.
